Furnace Mountain

Furnace Mountain is a rural Zen Buddhist retreat center and contemplative community in Eastern Kentucky that attracts retreatants from around the world. Steve worked with Zen Master Dae Gak and the residents of Furnace Mountain on the interrelationship between the practical work of running a retreat center, for which the residents are responsible, and their roles as members of a community whose membership tends to be in flux.
