Governor's Office of Agricultural Policy

2001 – 2002

One responsibility of the Governor's Office of Agricultural Policy, charged with overall management of the Tobacco Settlement Phase One and Phase Two funds, is to develop a state-wide plan for the future of agriculture. To aid in that effort, Steve and Rona worked with the staff to design and facilitate a series of public meetings involving citizens from all parts of the state for the following purposes:

  • Six issue groups, composed of a range of stakeholders, responded to a proposed set of initial plan elements

  • During one meeting in each of Kentucky's six congressional districts, and an additional meeting for all those who had participated in the issue groups, participants gave feedback on the initial full draft of the plan

Ongoing work with the staff will include design of support structures for County Councils and consultation on further issues of citizen involvement.

We also redesigned the office's website, www.agpolicy.ky.gov. We gave the site a clean new look and restructured the content to make information easier to find.
