Kentucky IMPACT

1996 – 1997

Kentucky IMPACT is a five-agency, collaborative effort on behalf of children with severe emotional disabilities. In 1996 and 1997 Steve conducted team-building sessions that combined a day on a low-ropes "outdoor challenge" course with extensive work indoors on applying the lessons learned during the outdoor experiences to participants' challenging collaborative work environments.

1990 through 1995

For Kentucky IMPACT, RKI served as advisors for the first five years of program implementation. We designed and delivered a training and development effort aimed at teaching collaboration skills to governmental agency employees. We also taught facilitation and coordination skills to the individual service coordinators who lead multi-agency teams on behalf of individual children, designed a systematic training system, and wrote a manual on collaboration and other materials to support these efforts. In addition, we designed and managed a two-year strategic direction-setting process involving hundreds of IMPACT employees and families in regional, local, and statewide collaborative decision making.
