The Lexington Public LibraryFall, 1998 – Spring, 1999Steve designed and conducted a set of five focus groups meant to provide information related to a planning grant for Operation Read, a joint program of the Lexington Public Library and the Carnegie Center that provides services to adults working on basic literacy or literacy for English as a Second Language. Focus group participants included students of both the English as a Second Language and Basic Literacy programs, tutors in the program and other volunteers, staff and board members of Operation Read, and staff of the Lexington Public Library. Steve provided a top-line report on the results of the focus groups to the program staff and led a planning retreat for the board and staff to discuss the results from this and related information gathering efforts. |
