External Communication Focus Groups – Partnership for Kentucky Schools

For the Partnership for Kentucky Schools, we conducted a set of focus groups with business people in the public and private sectors. These focus groups aimed to provide the Partnership with information about ways it could improve its communication about education issues with the business community. This effort also sought to address one of the Partnership's primary goals: to unite Kentucky advocates for education, with the business community as a major component.

In particular, the Partnership sought feedback on its monthly newsletter, Expect More, Achieve More. The focus groups asked for participants' ideas and opinions about the current effectiveness of the newsletter, ways to improve the content and/or design of the newsletter, and suggestions for other ways to communicate with members of the business community.

Recommendations included in the analysis of results were instrumental in decisions to modify both the design and content of the newsletter. Newsletter recipients have responded positively to the changes.
