Facilitation

At RKI, we believe a facilitated meeting has a better chance of being productive and fun than a meeting with no facilitators. We facilitate many events and ongoing work groups ourselves. We also design and facilitate dialogues on exploratory or highly-charged topics. Our facilitation services include:

  • running meetings as a neutral moderator
  • advising on a good design and structure for meetings
  • advising on appropriate processes and techniques within meetings
  • providing technical assistance and administrative support for meeting notes and group reports

We also train others to facilitate, primarily in situations where the use of the facilitation skill is both clear and immediate.

For more information, read The RKI Facilitators' Working Guide, Vol. 1, Ver. 1.3 (pdf, 252 KB) and view other examples of RKI meeting designs and guides.

For current examples of our facilitation work, see the Education Coalition, the Site-Specific Advisory Board – Paducah Gaseous Diffusion Plant, and the Lexington Herald-Leader.

For examples of our work training others to facilitate, check out these project descriptions:

The following project descriptions contain still more detailed information about RKI's facilitation services. Some of these projects also involved training others to facilitate; such projects are indicated with a *.
