Open Space Technology

Open Space Technology is the most democratic meeting design approach we have discovered. It engages participants in producing a framework for their own work that is both structured and flexible. For some clients, in addition to planning and facilitating open space sessions, RKI also provides logistical support, including site selection and management, technical assistance, and meeting set-up.

We acknowledge the work of Harrison Owen, author of Open Space Technology, and all the many people who experimented with Harrison to create this distinctive approach to structuring joint work.

Two good examples of our open space work are: the National Association of Catholic Family Life Ministers and Neighborhood Development Commission – Peoria, Illinois.
